The fact that Teams has telephony licenses has been around for a long time, but many still have the impression that Teams’ telephony service is only for large companies with gigantic budgets.
Teams Telephony Services for SMB
That, of course, is not the case. Already in the spring, 2020, Microsoft released the happy news that they would make their telephony services available to the SMB market (small medium business).
Previously, the larger company licenses were required to use the telephony supplement, but today most of the smaller license packages also work with the call functionality.
2020 was the year that remote work skyrocketed and the need for this type of service became gigantic. As Microsoft chose to include more licenses with the telephony supplement, even small and medium-sized companies could invest in the tools required to maintain productivity, regardless of where they work.
Enables better integrations for both small and large companies
Things get easier when you can have everything in one place. This is how we reasoned at Dstny when we created our integration with Teams. An integration that, in the first step, was released as a basic integration to bring PBX functionality into the collaboration tool and which has since been upgraded to expand more functionality and a user-friendly interface.
With our integration, Teams Telephony, you get functionality from the company exchange, directly into Teams.
For this to work, you need a company license that has telephony functionality. The fact that more licenses include this functionality opens up opportunities for both small and medium-sized companies to integrate their telephony with Microsoft Teams. Something that in turn enables streamlining of remote collaboration.
One of the following Microsoft licenses is required for our Team Telephony integration to work:
- Office 365 Business Basic
- Office 365 Business Standard
- Microsoft 365 Business Premium
- Office 365 E1
- Office 365 E3
- Office 365 F1
- Microsoft 365 A1
- Microsoft 365 A3
- Microsoft 365 E3
