About fiber for companies
The fiber network is a modern and effective solution to problems that can appear with acquiring functioning broadband, telephony and tv in the work-place. With optic light-signals through the fiber cable in the ground, data is transferred considerably faster compared to the old alternatives. The selection of fiber in companies is continuously growing.
The benefits with installing fiber are many. Partly to the fact that operation safety (no more frazzled hours without WIFI), and partly to its’ unlimited capacity to transfer data. In other words, fiber is a way for companies to assure themselves that broadband, telephony and tv work without interference.
Because fiber has such a high capacity you can use many services and connect many units in your building without risking overload. Also, a company that has fiber installed is more attractive compared to other workplaces due to the fact that connection is always steady and fast.
- Fiber is one of the most operation safe alternatives.
- Fiber is used for broadband, telephony and tv.
- Fiber means you won’t need to be close to a mobile tower.
- Fiber isn’t (compared to copper wires) sensitive to thunder.
- Some counties pay off broadband support through fiber installation.
- Fiber allows higher speed in data transfer than other alternatives.
- You can for example connect a security alarm to your smartphone through the fiber network.
Why fiber is a great option
One of the alternatives to fiber is of course using mobile broadband, and it works fine if you live close to a mobile tower. The further away you live from the tower, the lower transfer speed you’ll have, which makes mobile broadband a less attractive alternative to companies.
Fiber is also less sensitive than today’s copper networks that provide us with telephony and internet. The buried fiber cables aren’t affected by neither humidity nor thunder, so you don’t have to think about not being to use internet when the weather is bad. Fiber is also comparably faster than copper networks ever will be.
Fiber is a good investment for those who want to compete on the market thanks to its’ high speed for transferring files and because they’re so operation safe. With fiber you also use high-definition video services without slowing down internet. In a time epoch where video calls- and conferences are important tools, functioning internet is fundamental.
How does fiber work?
Fiber networks use light signals to transfer data traffic in an optic fiber, that’s made of either glass or plastic. It’s a technique that allows really fast transfers (in light’s speed!) and millions of calls can be made at the same time without capacity deteriorating.
The unit that receives the light signals send them as electronic impulses to tv, computer or phone with photo cells or photodiode. The capacity isn’t affected by how many active users there are simultaneously, and it doesn’t matter how far the data is transferred.
Fiber is in other words a fast and more sustainable alternative to copper networks and mobile broadband, and it’s also a total solution for tv, broadband and telephony. Fiber may be suited extra well for those companies that have a lot of units connected at the same time, because it works no matter number of units.
