What is Jabra?

In the world of communication, or more specifically wireless communication, Jabra is undoubtedly one of the leaders. Jabra is a Danish company founded in the US and specializes in sound equipment and videoconference. Jabra is owned by GN Audio, a part of GN group, and Jabra Corporation became a part of GN audio in 2000. They develop, manufacture and market headphones and headsets for consumers and enterprises. They’re also an affiliate to Group for Bluetooth Special Interest, that further represents the companys’ engagement in the development of Bluetooth gear and wireless technology.

The history

C.F Tietgen founded GN Group (Great Northern Telegraph Company), and their division GN Audio acquired Jabra Corporation in September 2000. In 2006 GN consolidated their division for contact center and company headsets under the Jabra brand. This was followed up by a restructuring under 2008 that established two divisions of the company targeted for consumers and enterprises. In the beginning of 2019, they also acquired Altia Systems to add video conference equipment to their repertoire and the same year they launched Jabra PanaCast.

How to connect your Jabra headset

As they offer a wide variety of headset and headphones, the connection process may vary a bit between models. Usually it includes the following steps;

  1. Turn on pairing mode for your headset –  Turn off your headset and hold the multifunction button for 3-5 seconds until the Bluetooth lamp turns on. This indicates pairing mode is turned on.m
  2. Find your headset on your phone or laptop and connect – Go to settings, turn on Bluetooth and then click on connect new unit. When you see your headset in the list, click on it and it should connect automatically.
  3. Confirm pairing – When your units are connected, the LED lamp should blink. This indicates the pairing is confirmed.
