Dstny takes the integration with Teams to a new level

It’s been a while since we released our first version of the integration with Teams. An integration that meant that users got the functionality from our cloud office phone system directly into Teams. But now we thought it was time to take it to the next level.

The first version

It has been possible for quite some time, to make calls with Teams. With the free version of MS Teams you can call your internal contacts and with the telephony extension you can reach out to external numbers. But there had long been a demand for more complex functionality and carrier integrations to improve end-user functionality.

Team’s own telephony solution lacks mobile integration and the powerful exchange functions we are used to today. This is where Dstny’s integration, Teams Telephony, came in and strengthened the collaboration tool. In our first version, the magic happened behind the scenes and was therefore was not very visible in the interface itself. The focus was on the functionality of the technology that would help our customers in their working day. But now we want to take it all to a new level.

Dstny Teams Telephony 2.0

Our goal was to build the most common PBX functionality, that you as a user manage in your mobile app or softphone, directly into Team’s own interface. In this way, we expand the functionality of our integration and the user does not have to work in several different interfaces.

Interfaces Teams Telephony

Caller-ID

One feature, which for many can be very important in their work day, is the choice of caller-ID. Which number you show, whether it is your mobile number, landline number or group number, can be decisive whether the customer even answers or not. This is also something many people change several times a day. Therefore, this is one of the things that has been added to our new version of the integration with Teams.

Send text messages

Calling is not always the most effective way of reaching someone. If you know that someone is busy in a conversation or in a meeting, an SMS can be a much faster way to say what you wanted to say. In our new version, you can now send texts directly to both internal and external contacts.

Manage ACD groups

Now you can also log in and out of response groups. You can easily see how many are logged in to the response groups directly in Teams. This way, you and your colleagues can always be sure that your important channels have enough staff.

Listen to voicemails

We have also built in a function so you can listen to your voicemails directly in Team’s collaboration tool. Play, download or discard various voicemails, all directly from the Teams interface.

Presence

If you want to avoid opening another app to manage your presence, you can now link your statuses in Teams to reference in the exchange. For example, when you change your status to busy in Teams, your presence in the PBX automatically changes as well.

We, at Dstny, are constantly working to develop and refine our integrations so they continue to be relevant to our end users. This, of course, applies to all our integrations and also our self-built services. That way, we hope to be able to secure the future of both our, but also our customers’, companies.
